Kathryn June Mabee Creamer

June 4, 1918 - July 5, 2019

Kathryn June Mabee Creamer, 101, passed away at Largo Medical Center early morning on Friday July 5, 2019. She had been in critical health since July 1st. Kathryn was born June 4, 1918, to parents Burton Mabee and Augusta Snyder Mabee in Connersville, IN. She married James E. Creamer on March 20, 1942, who preceded her in death in 1982. She is also preceded in death by her parents and her sister Jacquemina Heck and brother-in-law Charles Heck, all of Connersville, IN. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Creamer (her caregiver for the last seven years) and Kathy Luethje (Jon Luethje), three granddaughters, Megan Reckelhoff (Steve Reckelhoff), Erin Slavens (Brian Slavens), and Leah Johnson (Darrell Johnson), and three step grandsons. Kathryn has four great granddaughters, nine step great granddaughters, six great grandsons, and one step great-great granddaughter. She also hosted three foreign exchange students, Erica Kivimaki (Finland), Raewyn Allen (New Zealand), and Annette Tewes (Germany), who remain a part of her family. Kathryn was a first grade teacher in Fayette County, IN, for over twenty years, a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Connersville, and an affiliate member of Anona United Methodist Church for forty years. She was also a lifelong member of the Delta Theta Tau philanthropic sorority. Kathryn was an active member in Bible study groups, choirs, and women’s groups all of her life. She played piano throughout her life, even after losing her sight, and led musical groups that visited local nursing homes. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Anona United Methodist Church Chapel on Thursday July 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Additional services will be held at a date to be determined at First United Methodist Church in Connersville.
